I am always happy to accidentaly run into sketchbook pages of other artists or designers. It makes me feel kind of relieved or assured, seeing I don“t need to draw like Da Vinci to become a desinger, right? Recently I found a book full of sketches by the famous Czech architect Kaplicky which were so ugly that they were just excellent! They seemed to be drawn by 5 year child, but knowing his buildings and projects, the drawings held the image almost precisely. Kaplicky must have had a great talent to capture the abstract visions into graphical interpetation and then into real buildings exactly as he had seen them in his mind.
The one I posted is from Sarah Pease, a young designer from RISD that was spotted by Dwell magazine as “Youngest Guns”. Despite I did not like her work as much as the magazine, her sketchbook pages are just great.

Guess you can’t win them all!
